Banana Chocolate Bites


Serves: 4


  • 2 bananas
  • 12 toothpicks
  • 1 bag (12 oz) semisweet or milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • ½ c. chopped nuts like salted peanuts, walnuts, pecans, etc.



  1. Line cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper.
  2. Cut peeled bananas in 1-inch-thick slices. Insert toothpick into each slice; place on cookie sheet. Freeze 30 minutes.
  3. In medium microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips and coconut oil on High 30 seconds. Stir well; microwave in 15-second increments, stirring well after each, until chocolate is completely melted.
  4. Remove bananas from freezer. Dip each in melted chocolate; immediately roll in nuts; return to paper-lined cookie sheet. Let stand until chocolate is firm. If not serving immediately, return bananas to freezer.
